About

Hi, I’m Toby, and I’d like to build something beautiful for you. There is little I cannot do, but here’s a list of commonly offered services:

Honey-do List (Toby-do): I am often called for some small item, a broken door, shelf install, leak, etc. A good use of both our time is to make a list, add to it over a few days and send it to me first so I know what to expect. While I’ve been leaning towards longer projects lately, this is a good way for us to get to know each other, and helps me fill in my schedule.

Bathroom and Kitchen Remodels are something I enjoy and am well suited for. There are many elements in such remodels, such as flooring, carpentry, plumbing, and electricity, all of which I do well. While I may bring an (experienced) assistant, I do the estimate and I do the work. The absence of an array of specialists and management streamlines communication, costs and crowding.

Finish Carpentry is something I am particularly well-equipped for. I install a good deal of trim, crown molding, doors and windows throughout the year. Summertime its nice to build a few decks and fences.

Custom Furniture, shelving, etc. is occasionally commissioned. Prefer to work with natural materials and simple functional designs.

Treeforts and play structures are a great joy to create, I’ve made several for my daughter, and for clients. My work is sturdy, safe, and engaging, well geared for the active mind and body.

Specific Skills: Finish carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing, tile, mechanical, structural, design, creative problem solving. No carpet, only small (one-room) paint jobs.
